The Mernda Primary School Council is a group of elected parents and staff who volunteer to oversee the current and future direction of the school. It shall comprise a minimum of seven and a maximum of fifteen members. The Parent Members shall constitute more than 50 % of the total membership of the School Council.
The school council has particular functions in setting and monitoring the school’s direction, overseeing whole school programs, approving building and grounds development, managing finances and ensuring proper records are kept of the school’s financial operation.
School council usually meets once a month on a Wednesday night at 7pm (Mernda Primary School). All members are keen to represent the whole school community and strive to continue to make positive decisions to make Mernda Primary School a vibrant learning environment for all children.
