Our school is set within wonderful, expansive and well-kept grounds with indoor and open air performance platforms for students to perform, an abundance of playground facilities, a gymnasium, oval and multiple purpose outdoor area.

Our school has excellent facilities and resources which provide opportunities for all students to experience a comprehensive curriculum in a caring, yet challenging atmosphere. The school’s layout provides, flexible learning spaces, classrooms and specialist areas, and a purpose built Out of School Hours Care facility. Whilst the emphasis is placed on English and Mathematics, incorporating an Inquiry based approach, the curriculum at Mernda also features Personal and Social Capabilities learning and specialist programs in Performing Arts (Music, Dance, Drama), STEAM:- science, technology, Library, Health & Physical Education & Sport and Chinese.

For current parents, students and staff, our Firefly portal is the main means of communication, with access to curriculum, assessment information, ongoing reporting, policies, updates and announcements. Our newsletter is published on a monthly basis to share student achievements and learning, reflect on school events and activities, and provide additional information about upcoming opportunities for our students.
